Guided sightseeing in each city shows you the highlights, and is conducted by Certified Local Guides. Cruise through the scenic canals of Amsterdam and through the dramatic Rhine Gorge past the legendary Lorelei rock. Spend time in magnificent Cologne, the charming wine village of Rüdesheim, medieval Bamberg, historical Nuremberg, and magical Vienna. Enjoy the music of local musicians in some port of call. Attend a beer tasting in Bamberg and enjoy inside visits of Würzburg’s Bishop’s Residenz, and St. Martin’s Cathedral in Bratislava. And because this is a music theme, you will visit a violin maker in Regensburg, we will take you to Mozart’s birthplace of Salzburg, where the “hills are alive with the Sound of Music”, you will attend a Waltz and Operetta concert in Vienna. While on board, be sure to have your camera ready to capture the scenic beauty, quaint towns, fascinating architecture, and historic buildings dotting the landscape as you sail along.

Day 1  Amsterdam (Embarkation): welcome reception

Day 2  Amsterdam: canal cruise

Day 3  Cologne: onboard piano recital; choice of guided walk or Jewish Heritage walk

Day 4  Rhine Gorge–Rüdesheim: cruise through the Rhine Gorge; visit Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum in Rüdesheim; enjoy a special treat

Day 5  Main River Village: guided walk

Day 6  Würzburg: guided sightseeing, visit the Bishop’s Residenz

Day 7  Bamberg: guided sightseeing, see the Old Town Hall

Day 8  Nuremberg: choice of guided sightseeing or Nuremberg Rally Grounds tour

Day 9  Regensburg: guided walk and visit to a violin maker’s workshop; enjoy a snack at the Historische Wurstküche; beer tasting, special lecture onboard on the world of guitars.

Day 10  Passau: guided walk or full day excursion to Salzburg with lunch included

Day 11  Krems. Excursion to Göttweig Abbey: guided walk in Krems; guided visit of Göttweig Abbey, church concert

Day 12  Vienna: guided sightseeing, “Royal Waltz” Concert in Vienna 

Day 13  Bratislava: guided sightseeing, visit St. Martin’s Cathedral

Day 14  Budapest: guided sightseeing, see Fishermen’s Bastion and Heroes’ Square. Visit the Opera House and attend a short concert.

Day 15  Budapest (Disembarkation): your vacation ends this morning
